Novice building a wreck!

keep an eye on your rear anti roll bar.
with an extra 2" droop from the longer shock absorbers - it has been know for the bracket at the axle end to flip over when the wheel is on full extension.
some people put a space on the ARB bracket on the chassis to space the bar down an inch or 2 to prevent this.

None on mine either and it seams to handle okay even with the stupid tyres. Anyway, I find the mirrors keep the grass short on the roundabouts when it leans over.

Joking aside, the anti roll bar removed doesnt make too much difference on road, a bit though. It does however free up the droop of the axle off road with the aim of keeping wheels in contact longer. (Am I right Ladies and Gents).
Not sure if you need to tell insurance, I'm sure I will have done, honest.

I agree with Nick, the stiffer springs that you get with the lift kit in my oppinion negate the need for the role bar.

I have removed the rear anti roll bar off my Discovery and am considering removing the front as well. Any advice welcome

I have removed both, as well as the funny vibration thing and the steering damper. The damper does make the steering wooley and does highlight any problems with front hubs such as sloppy preload, I am considering putting it back on. It is prone to damage as I understand so might carry a spare if I do.

Hope this helps (BTW I did all this work in Matthews workshop and he didnt tell me not to, in fact, he probably told me which nuts to slacken )

Thanks for the info. I think i will remove the front anti roll bar, leave the damper until it decides to remove its self from the vehicle and then replace the steering rods with some heavy duty ones like i had on the hybrid.

have replaced turbo hoses after finding big hole in one, blanked off EGR and now have no pre-heater light. Anything I've done or just a coincidence?

Dave Willard sold me a scorpion bar set which puts the damper on the front steering bar instead of the rear and therefore protected by the steering guard. Havent fitted it yet but will let you know if it works
