Prop Shaft U/J
Had one of the U/J's on the front P/S on my 90 replaced recently, went to grease it and found no grease coming out of the bearing yokes as expected - it was coming out of the threads on the nipple.
Its a gkn bearing, so are they sealed now to stop the grease coming out or does it sound like its full, blocked or another problem?
Anyone else come across this?
Ta Steve

You could try tightening the grease nipple into the u/j, that has happened to me before, the grease just finds the easiest way out.
Nothing is impossible with the right attitude and a big hammer.

Doh, didn,t think of that Graeme! Thought finger tight would suffice.
Not been straight forward though, when I first tried the grease gun wouldn't go on the nipple cause its too close to the yoke, comman problem, so had to source longer nipples and conical connector for gun.
Problem solved or so I thought!

Be careful with long nipples , they can catch on the yokes at extreme angles and snap off , I've ground the outer edge of my grease gun down for this very reason , also depends which way you put the uj in as to how easy it is to get it on .

Yes Matthew I know about the long nipples, have put the standard one back in. Decided not to distroy my grease gun! Not tried again so we'll see what happens next time.
