NATO pintle information anyone?
One of my log term projects is to convert my trailer (caravan chassis with a box on top) so that I can tow it with the NATO hitch on the RRC. I have obtained a NATO/Bradley pintle: http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/imagegallery/albums/userpics/10043/pintle.JPG but I can't find any information on t...

Been Rsing around with the mixture recently and this weekend I went to the Lake District and back with MT's on and averaged 15mpg on gas. That may not sound much but on the last measured run to Bonsall and back (on ATs), I only managed 10mpg. Hopefully if I mess around some more I might improve it a...

Re: Bearing problems - advice saught
Since the RRC is now my DD - I have finally got round to putting the old alloys and AT tyres back on it - these wheels/tyres have not been used or checked since the days of the golden Disco - what - 4 years? Anyway - three were ok but one was about 4psi down. Anyone know where I complain to about th...

Bearing problems - advice saught
OK - so the OSR bearing was quite loose but spinning smoothly. The NSR had only a little play and seemed fine. Skived off work for an hour this morning to adjust them and the left one is great - did up nicely and took out all the play. But - The right one is...'funny'. If I try to put even a small a...

Mea culpa
Stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid When I came to put the OSR hub together about two years ago I found that in my bag of bits I been given the wrong locking washer - I had a tab type instead of a D type - no probs I thought - I'll fit it anyway and just cut off the tab and replace it when I g...

IMHO a heated rear screen is essential, but a wash/wipe is 'pretty important' Even if you only use it to and from events it would still be nice to see through the back on a manky salty motorway... My tuppence worth

I didn't realise you were building Knight-Rider! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo8Qls0HnWo :D I thought exactly that when I saw it! I never expected it to be so bling - after reading about Lambda sensors 'flipping' and knowing that there is next to no damping or delay in the indicator I thought it...

/\ /\ wot he said /\ /\ Additional though is that if a small amount of muddy water (say a couple of cupfuls) gets in, then with it the right way round there is a good chance of your filter staying dry while it exits through the little drain - the same situation with a top entry will leave you with a...

Hi Roger, are you certain you have no leaks in the inlet manifold as they are notorious for not sealing? Which valley gasket are you using, tin or composite? Good point - it's a tin gasket with some rust in the valley, but all the plugs look the same (I would have expected them to be uneven if ther...

LPG and all that. Warning: Long and boring post!
I have had a go (again) at tuning my car since - although it seemed to run ok - it had something of a reluctance to accept large throttle openings at medium revs. For example on the M6 at 55mph I would have to change down to 4th to hold my speed on the climb up to Saddleworth when returning from the...
