Disconnecting
I usually (always unless I forget) disconnect the battery and alternator, it has been known for the rectifier packs on the alternator to blow when leaving it connected (old ACR alternators), don't worry about owt else it should be fine with the above 2 disconnected.

Excessively sticky out wheels also put more strain on swivel housings, top and bottom swivel bearings and luuuuv to kill wheel bearings just for the hell of it , it all boils down to the best compromise for the use of the vehicle, how often does Dave trial on his Simex's ? how come a RR on 205's can...

Backspace is sometimes referred to as inset and as Dave stated this is the measurement that affects how far you can get the wheels to turn before fouling on something, also a thing to note is the larger the diameter of the tyre the sooner it will foul on a same size wheel hence a 205/80/16 will give...

Fuel Pump
Martin , it shouldn't be a problem on volume but I'd check what pressure the Die Hat Poo injection pump needs as you'll have about 4>4.5 psi from the RR carb pump but loads of LPM.

Bite the bullet and spend your money on a Janspeed, the quality and fit is much better and the manifolds don't crack after a couple of years (Janspeed won't make SS manfolds for this very reason) , the last set of mild steel Janspeed manifolds I had lasted about 8 years and were ancient and 2nd hand...

I'd definately agree with Dave , Shutz is a stone chip protection/sound deadener and not a rust prevention, waxoil isn't as good as it says on the tin but does work pretty well, I'd recommend the black waxoil (a mixture of waxoil with a bit of shutz added for extra protection) for all external surfa...

downpipe
Have you tried a 14mm wall drive socket , is your 15mm a 6 point or a 12 point ? , quite often a 12 point will spin whereas a 6 point will remove the nut, if you get totally stuck give me a bell.
