Defender 90 front brake calipers.
I'm looking to rebuild my front calipers with stainless pistons. I want to get hold of a second hand pair to rebuild, or if I can't get defender calipers, then a different set that I can swap over to while I rebuild mine. Does anyone know what front calipers will fit straight onto a 90 axle (1992 90...

tdi injector pump refurb
I'm considering sending my injector pump for a refurb. I only recently replaced the timing belt, so if I can avoid removing the front cover, I'd like to. I know there is a tool for holding the pump drive gear in place while the pump is removed. Anyone know if it is any good? Does it actually work? I...

Re: Handbrake binding at points
The screws are not there. I've ordered a couple. I hadn't thought they would be essential, but it seems they might.

Re: Handbrake binding at points
Sorted I think.
I centred the drum on the output flange as there was a small amount of movement when the propshaft bolts were loosened. It now seems to be OK.

Re: Handbrake binding at points
It's the type where the cable goes to a linkage and then into the drum. I've stripped the internals several times and apart from the adjuster, they have all been replaced over the last few years. Even when freshly stripped and cleaned, the brake still seems to bind at points. I did replace the outpu...

Handbrake binding at points
The handbrake drum on my 90 is making a chirping noise if I adjust it enough to hold. It's OK if it is so slack it only just holds. There is also some judder in the drive train - presumably from the handbrake. I can feel it binding at one point in the rotation. If I jack up one of the back wheels an...

Tyres - Maxxis Bighorn or Cooper STT?
Looking for a set of new tyres for the 90. I'm after new tyres only not remoulds and in 235/85 Looking for something decent off road but given how little I seem to be doing, it has to be good on road too. I can get a set of Maxxis Bighorn MT764s or Cooper STT Pro for reasonable money with wheels. An...

Defender rear tailpipe section
The exhaust on my 90 has just the rear silencer box and the pipe that leads out of it to the wing has just fallen off. Does anyone know if I have to have a silencer in the system at all or can I just replace the rear box with a straight through pipe? If so, any ideas where I can get one?
Cheers.

Winch earth connection
Looks like my winch packed up at Fellbeck due to a bad earth cable connection to the motor body. It was good enough for the solenoid but not letting enough juice flow for the motor. I've cleaned up the bolt and the thread in the underside of the motor. Any suggestions as to how I can stop it corrodi...

As above, do they actually do anything? If so, which is best?
